World Science, Environment and Engineering Competition (WSEEC) is an international competition organized by Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Pancasila University, and IYSA (Indonesian Young Scientist Association). The year 2024 was the fourth year of WSEEC which was held in Jakarta in a hybrid manner on May 13-15, 2024.
This activity was attended by 364 teams from 18 countries, namely Indonesia, India, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkey, the United States, Puerto Rico, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Iran, Egypt, and Malaysia.
In the WSEEC event, the SMA Negeri 1 Maos team consisting of Annisa Maulida Zahra, Irfan Santoso, Khaerul Maulud Weliyanto, Naura Hanania Nadhir, and Umi Fadilla Syifa qualified as finalists and won the Silver Medal with the title of their innovation “Candu Asap Innovation: Transforming Rice Bran into a Remedy for External Wounds", which makes a thick charcoal liquid from burning bran that is effectively used as a medicine to treat various kinds of wounds.
The Head of SMA Negeri 1 Maos, Amin, S.Pd., M.Pd. felt proud of the achievements of his students in this prestigious event. “Hopefully this achievement will continue to motivate other students to also make Cilacap Regency proud in the national and international arena.” Amin said.
