Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Pancasila University, and IYSA (Indonesian Young Scientist Association) again organized the World Science, Environment and Engineering Competition (WSEEC), the fifth annual international competition in 2025. WSEEC was held in Jakarta in a hybrid and finalist presentation on May 14, 2025. This event was attended by 235 students from the United States, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam, Turkey, Hong Kong, Kazakkhstan, China, Singapore.
In the WSEEC event, the SMA Negeri 1 Maos team consisting of Lovely Zee, Cici Melita Arkiana, Jihan Fadhilah Husna, Fara Azahra Rahmadhany and Alvika Shalsa Amaranggana qualified as finalists and won the Silver Medal at the awarding on Friday (16/05) with the title of their innovation “Psychological Analysis of The Appeal of Pon Market Day as A Market Name in Adipala” which explores local wisdom in Adipala District, Cilacap Regency.
In her presentation, according to research by Lovely Zee, Cici Melita Arkiana, Jihan Fadhilah Husna, Fara Azahra Rahmadhany and Alvika Shalsa Amaranggana, Adipala Market has a special attraction on Pon market days, which is caused by higher crowds and diversity of merchandise. Vendors who sell on Pon market days believe that their wares will sell more, while visitors feel that their needs can be better met on Pon market days. Although the philosophical meaning of the market name “PON” is not always clearly understood by everyone, the psychological impact of the name is still strong.
