Jakarta (Public Relations of MAN 4 Jakarta) - Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 4 South Jakarta once again made proud achievements in the international arena in the World Science Environment and Engineering Competition (WSEEC) 2025 organized by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA). This prestigious competition was held on June 20-22, 2025 in Jakarta and was attended by hundreds of teams from various schools and universities, both from within and outside the country (23/05/2025).
In this competition, MAN 4 South Jakarta sent 12 research teams divided into various categories of science, environment, and engineering. Incredibly, all the teams managed to bring home various awards, ranging from gold, silver, bronze medals, to special awards such as Best Project and Special Award from MIICA (Malaysian Innovation Invention and Creativity Association).
This achievement shows MAN 4 South Jakarta's commitment in fostering the interests and talents of its students in the field of research and innovation. “This achievement is the result of our students' extraordinary hard work. They have shown research skills that are not inferior to other leading schools,” said Nugroho Wahyu Sumartono, coordinator of the MAN 4 South Jakarta research team who also accompanied the participants during the competition process.
Wahyu added that this success is also inseparable from the support of various parties, including supervising teachers, parents, and madrasah officials who always encourage the spirit of innovation. “We have prepared the team since several months earlier through intensive training and regular mentoring,” he explained.
WSEEC 2025 is one of the most prestigious research competitions in Southeast Asia. The assessment is carried out strictly by an international jury from various countries, with criteria including originality of ideas, research methods, usefulness, and presentation methods. Head of MAN 4 South Jakarta, Wido Prayoga, expressed his pride in this achievement. “We are very proud and grateful for the success of our children. This is clear evidence that MAN 4 South Jakarta is able to compete and excel in the field of research and innovation at the international level,” he said.
Furthermore, Wido hopes that this success can inspire other students to continue working and not hesitate to pursue achievements in academic and non-academic fields. “This is not the end, but the beginning of a greater struggle. We will continue to support the development of research and innovation in madrasas,” he added. With this achievement, MAN 4 South Jakarta further strengthens its position as a madrasah that excels in science and technology. The success in WSEEC 2025 is an important note in the madrasah's journey towards a global-minded and research-based educational institution.
The education community and parents also appreciated this extraordinary achievement. Hopefully, MAN 4 South Jakarta can serve as an example for other madrasas across Indonesia in developing students' research potential.
